Florida Lakes Symphony Orchestra – February Concerts

Celebrating “Romance & Roses” With New February 2022 Performances!

The Florida Lakes Symphony Orchestra will present their Saint Valentine’s tribute concerts entitled “Romance & Roses” with an appearance of “Soloists of the Orchestra”. This will be a smaller group of talented musicians who will passionately play a special romantic repertoire of virtuoso classical and popular music of love on February 17 and 18, 2022

Each evening performance will begin with the rousing “Marriage of Figaro” by Amadeus Mozart. This will be an introduction to the stirringly beautiful “Seasons of the Soul” composed by member of the group, concert pianist Sergei Kossenko while at the Moscow Conservatory of Music.  This will be followed by the famous tango from “Scent of A Woman” by Carlos Gardel, who is also known as “Por una Cabeza” because his love of a woman won out “by a head” over his other love-horse racing.  Everyone will be captivated by the brilliant Tschaikowsky masterpiece, “Romeo & Juliet” music used in so very many film scores to great effect. The theme from the film, “Elvira Madigan” is taken from Amadeus Mozart.  This will bring the evening to Vienna, home of the elegance of romance and to the performance of “Old Vienna Dances” by that incredible universally acknowledged violin virtuoso Fritz Kreisler. This performance will be represented brilliantly by the FLSO’s beloved Concert Master, Konstantin Dimitrov. Made famous in the movie, “Ghost”, the next popular piece will be “Unchained Melody”.  That will be followed by “Finale” from ‘Carnival of the Animals’ by Camille Saint-Saens and arranged for the FLSO by the late founder of the Florida Lakes Symphony Orchestra, Guy Saint-Clair. It will be a beautiful new concert event.
