Our Story

The South Lake Chamber officially began as the Board of Trade in the early days of the City of Clermont. Comprised of local citizens, the Board of Trade took charge of all city improvements; anything from road repairs to raising money to purchase a fire truck. In February of 1922, then named the Clermont Chamber of Commerce was organized and absorbed the Board of Trade and elected Dr. Arthur L. Izlar as its president.

In 1996, several Lake County chambers of commerce merged to create the South Lake Chamber of Commerce, which has become the collective voice of the business community. The Chamber now encompasses the cities of ClermontGrovelandMascotte, MinneolaMontverde, and the Four Corners area. The South Lake Chamber of Commerce is proud to be an integral part of these distinctive communities. Our goal is to help you navigate around one of the fastest-growing areas of Central Florida and share insights about these vibrant, business-friendly places where Southern hospitality is alive and well.

The South Lake Chamber of Commerce is certified by the Florida Association of Chamber Professionals and a member of the Chamber Alliance of Lake County, Florida Chamber, Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives, and the U.S. Chamber.
