On Friday, April 21, 2023, the South Lake Chamber hosted our Monthly Chamber Breakfast in Groveland at the E.L. Puryear Building. This breakfast featured a keynote presentation from City Manager Mike Hein from the City of Groveland. During Hein’s address, he discussed the initiatives of Groveland where they strive to be more informed and engaged with our community, focusing on conservation and preservation, adopting eco-agrarian practices, delivering community liability, and financial health for the City of Groveland. Police Chief Shawn Ramsey and Mayor Evelyn Wilson of the City of Groveland recognized Bridgette Bennett of Bennett Law Center and the Reggae Cafe for her continuous efforts in collaboration and investments in the city.

President & CEO of Computer Business Consultants, Clinton Pownall, presented the Public Service Award to Sgt. Landis Delp of the Groveland Police Department. Sgt. Delp represents the best of the best in law enforcement. He cares about his community and everyone who lives there. In July 2022, Sgt. Delp began his efforts to give Groveland kids and families a memorable Christmas. As a member of the United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots, Sgt. Delp raised approximately $4,500 during a Christmas in July Auction, raised $5,000 from local donors, collected approximately 150 new bicycles, and provided more than 189 families and 400 children with a Merry Christmas.

Pam Nabors, President & CEO of CareerSource Central Florida, and main event sponsor delivered a presentation discussing the services they provide to various industries. CareerSource Central Florida can work with businesses across the region to help them find qualified talent and offer training support services, which helps their business grow.

Pastor Brian, Founder & CEO of Find, Feed & Restore, and co-sponsor discussed their newest program, “Live Here, Love Here, Lake!” This program is designed for small businesses to join the fight to eliminate homelessness in Lake County. Restore Lake, a property of Find, Feed & Restore, currently sits on 10 acres where they will provide dormitory styles housing for families with children and a women’s domestic violence shelter with mental health counseling.
