On Friday, September 16, 2022, the South Lake Chamber of Commerce welcomed over 160 local business leaders for our September Chamber Breakfast. Jason Siegel, President & CEO of Greater Orlando Sports Commission, provided an update on all the exciting events surrounding the sports & tourism industry.

The Chamber awarded Amanda Hansen of Seacoast Bank with the September Ambassador of the Month award. Amanda provides exceptional value to the South Lake Chamber of Commerce. She serves on the Teacher Appreciation Breakfast and Taste of South Lake committees. Her efforts allowed the Chamber to celebrate 1600 local educators, highlight over 60 local restaurants and businesses, and welcome more than 8,000 attendees annually to Chamber events. As the local Seacoast Bank Branch Manager, Amanda delivers leadership and direction as a Board Member for the South Lake Chamber of Commerce. Our recipient is one of the first people who greet you when you attend Chamber events.

The Ray Goodgame Outstanding Student Leader Award, presented by Commissioner Sean Parks – District 2, Chairman of Lake County, to Natalie Christine Babinski of Montverde Academy. The $1,000 Ray Goodgame Scholarship honors students in the South Lake area who serve as champions for our community. Natalie has displayed exceptional leadership in high school through leadership roles and serving in clubs such as Secretary of the Key Club, President of Web Master, and Vice President of GSA while volunteering her time for both the Environmental Club and Girls for Girls. This student has also participated in the National Honor Society, French Honor Society, and Science Honor Society. As an Eagle Ambassador supporting the Head of School Leadership and the Director of Events, Natalie also participates as the Manager for Varsity Volleyball Team, Middle School Track Team, and the Pom Squad. Our recipient is a member and volunteer for Thrive Clermont and the Teen Advisory Council. As this year’s Chair of the Event Planning Committee and a member of the Social Media Committee, Natalie leads the facilitation of various events in Clermont such as the Winter Festival and the Adulting Series. Our recipient also volunteers her time with the Groveland Historical Museum and has recently joined the Archiving Committee where she organizes historical documentation and later uploads it to their website. Natalie understands the significance of balancing her schedule with volunteerism while achieving high academically. While keeping a busy schedule, Natalie maintains a GPA of 4.27!
