Lake County Schools is opening Entrepreneurship Academies at Eustis, Tavares and East Ridge High Schools. We are excited about starting these much needed programs and are looking for community support during the 21-22 school year.

Students participating in this new program will experience hands-on training as they ideate, develop, and iterate their own product or service startup, which they will pitch to professionals and eventually develop into a self-sustaining business. We are excited to be using INCubatoredu, a national program that provides a specialized curriculum to hundreds of member schools in over a dozen states. INCubatoredu provides online instruction materials, consultation classroom design, and professional development and resources for the year-long course. We like to think that we are starting our own homegrown version of shark tank.

We are looking for volunteers to fill the following roles:
• Guest Speakers (Coaches): To speak with classes on a given topic and infuse your experiences and expertise. The time commitment is about three hours per year.
• Mentors: To work with a group of students on their specific project throughout the year. Time commitment is about one hour per month.
• Advisory Council Members: To advise on curriculum development and best practices as well as provide community resource support. Time commitment is about one hour per month.
