Effective immediately, Feb. 10, the Florida Department of Health will be temporarily closing our Groveland Amazon Distribution site for COVID-19 immunizations due to a lack of vaccine availability.

Vaccine shipments are expected to arrive early next week at which time the site will be reopened.

Operating as an alternative vaccination site is the Lake Square Mall that is offering immunizations by appointment only. Residents may pre-register for an appointment online at myvaccine.fl.gov, or by phone at 866-201-6909 (or 833-476-1031 for TTY users).

The Florida Department of Health will also continue to schedule and administer second doses at their St. Patrick Catholic Church site.

Per Executive Order 20-315, the first phase of vaccinations is reserved for individuals who are 65 years of age or older; long-term care facility residents and staff; and health care personnel with direct patient contact. Eligible recipients are advised to present a valid Florida driver’s license or a copy of a valid Florida Identification Card for proof of Florida residency. Frontline workers with direct patient contact are also eligible with proper identification. To view a complete list of acceptable identification, visit lake.floridahealth.gov. Face masks are required at all sites.

For the latest local immunization information updates, visit the Florida Department of Health on their website at lake.floridahealth.gov and Twitter page @FLHealthLake.

All additional inquiries for information are to be directed to the Florida Department of Health – Lake COVID-19 hotline at (352) 268-9299, Monday- Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
