In July of this year, we lost a Champion for the City of Clermont, the South Lake Chamber of Commerce and all of South Lake County.  Ray Goodgame loved his community and would do whatever is necessary to help make it better. Ray was a passionate, dedicated, and tenacious community leader. Ray embodied the same qualities that will help make our young people the leaders of tomorrow. It is fitting that from this day forward, our Outstanding Student Leader Award will be named the Ray Goodgame Outstanding Student Leader Award.

The first recipient of the Ray Goodgame Outstanding Student Leader Award is Zanya JeBailey of Montverde Academy. Zayna is an honor roll student that currently holds a GPA of 4.15. In addition to her AP and honors courses, she also serves as the Tri-M President, is involved in the National Honor Society and was part of the Headmaster Leadership Institute Arts & Athletics Leadership Committee. She is also the yearbook senior editor, choir president and a member of the Montverde Academy Music Conservatory for voice, piano and orchestra.

Outside of the classroom, Zayna is an inaugural member of the Orlando St. Jude Leadership Society. As a member, she began the “One in a Million: A Night of Magic and Hope” teen gala which in two years has raised more than $56,000.

Zayna has also been on 3 mission trips to Panama and Belize and has a passion for working with children at her church.

If that didn’t sound like a lot, Zayna also spent the spring and summer working as an intern for Dreamwalker Productions.

The $1,000 award will also be given to deserving students from East Ridge High School, Lake Minneola High School, Real Life Christian Academy and South Lake High School throughout the school year.

Congratulations, Zayna!
