The Ray Goodgame Outstanding Student Leader Award honors students in the South Lake area, who like Ray, serve as a champion for our community. It is our pleasure to present the Ray Goodgame Outstanding Student Leader Award at the Oct. 18 Chamber Breakfast to Valerie Belvu of Real Life Christian Academy.

Val is an honor roll student that currently holds a GPA of 4.6. She has received the math award in 10th and 11th grade, the science award in 9th, 10th and 11th grade and the dean’s list in 9th grade. In addition to her AP and honors courses, Val served as the 9th and 12th grade representative for Student Council, currently serves as the yearbook photographer and has taken several school service trips her entire time at Real Life.

Outside of academics, Val plays on the varsity girls basketball team and has been awarded the captain award, MVP and rookie of the year.

If that doesn’t sound like a lot, Val also volunteers at Kid Life every Sunday and does volunteer work in a group home.
