With the objective of educating the whole child to create a lifelong love of learning, our Lower School incorporates computers, foreign language, drama, art, music, library, and physical education. Our teachers combine the science, the art and the “heart” of teaching to create inspirational learning environments that actively engage children in the learning process.
Middle School students transition from childhood through adolescence in just three short years. The mission-driven division is dedicated to creating an atmosphere where a passion for leadership, knowledge, global vision, and innovation are inspired, nurtured and explored. While content knowledge and skills are important for emerging adolescents, equally important is the development of character. Middle School students learn how to discern, choose and practice doing the right things while simultaneously learning how to do things right.
Nearly 80% of faculty hold advanced degrees and have 10+ years of teaching experience. Students work with teachers in an innovative, college preparatory setting, with an average of 15:1 student-faculty ratio in our Upper School. Classes focus on building critical thinking skills, challenging students with new ideas and encouraging them to do their best in and out of the classroom.
With 34 Advanced Placement® courses and 14 Honors classes, students further their education with a broad selection of subjects, and the ability to pursue a Subject Area Concentration (SAC) diploma in six different study areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics; Pre-Professional Health Services; Visual Arts; Business Innovation and Entrepreneurial Development; Global Perspectives; and Communications. Our seniors have a 100% college acceptance rate to schools that include Duke, Princeton, Harvard, Yale, University of California, Berkeley, University of Florida, and more. Our focus is to prepare students to achieve success in higher learning and beyond.
Students interested in actively pursuing the arts, can participate in a dedicated Music or Theatre Conservatory program. Aspiring artists can immerse themselves in extensive and challenging programs that enhance their passion and commitment to their fine arts career.
Montverde Academy also offers premier state and nationally recognized athletics for student-athletes who wish to focus additional time and attention toward pursuing athletic dreams through a variety of Academy and/or club programs We offer three Academies: Center for Basketball Development (CBD); Soccer Institute for Montverde Academy (SIMA); and Montverde Academy Tennis (MAT); and athletic clubs include Montverde International Futbol Club (MIFC); Elite Volleyball Prep (EVP); Montverde Aquatic Club (MvAC), and more.
