The South Lake Chamber Education Committee speaks to local high school students annually at its annual “Job Readiness” presentation. This presentation brings together education, business, first responders, military and community representatives to engage high school juniors on discussions about how to approach getting and keeping a job. The presentation also provides a unique opportunity for high school seniors to ask the guest speakers any question that comes to mind; this section is titled “Ask Me Anything”.

As co-chair of the South Lake Chamber Education Committee, Tanya Armstrong personally enjoys the opportunity to speak with our youth in the community about their present circumstances and future goals. Continuing Armstrong noted that, “I believe it is important for our youth to see members of the community taking the time out of their day to share their own personal experiences and insights about college, career or just life in general. The variety of presenters from first responders to successful business owners provides the kids with potential mentors and possible employment opportunities. I am grateful for being a part of this annual experience.”
