Keith Mullins, the owner of Bacchus Vino Etcetera, was recognized as the May Ambassador of the Month. Mr. Mullins has been deeply rooted in the South Lake community for many years. From 1999 to 2017, he served on the Clermont City Council on Seat 4 and served on the Planning and Zoning Board. Mr. Mullins has lived in Clermont since 1988 and later opened the retail wine store Bacchus Vino Etcetera in 2004 in Downtown Clermont. He’s also the current treasurer and past president of the South Lake Kiwanis Club, the current treasurer of the Clermont Main Street, and a board member of the South Lake Animal League. In 1990, Mr. Mullins served as the Board Chair for the South Lake Chamber of Commerce, and in 2003 he was awarded the Citizen of the Year award. The South Lake Chamber is grateful to have such a great individual who is dedicated to this community and involved as a Chamber Ambassador.

Periodically, the South Lake Chamber recognizes a local student leader with the Ray Goodgame Outstanding Student Leader Award. This award honors students in the South Lake area who serve as champions for our community. This month, the Chamber was proud to recognize Keira Marie Votava of East Ridge High School with the Ray Goodgame Outstanding Student Leader Award. Keira has exhibited unparalleled leadership throughout high school by embracing roles and serving in clubs such as President of Rho Kappa, member of the Student Government Association, National Honor Society, and National English Honor Society. While this student performed at a high level in various AP and honors classes, she was declared Captain of the Varsity Girls Lacrosse team and partook in the Varsity Girl’s Cross Country team. Keira understands the significance of balancing work-life and volunteerism at a young age. In her spare time, our recipient volunteers with “Give Kids the World,” “4ocean,” and “Dreamplex” while working as a hostess for Bob Evans. This student was awarded MVP of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes during her junior year. Keira has earned further recognitions such as AP Capstone Diploma, AP Scholar with Honors, and AP Scholar with Distinction, where only 10% of students nationwide receive this level of achievement by the time they graduate. Throughout her high school tenure, this student holds a recorded GPA of 5.07! During her acceptance speech, Keira announced that she will attend Florida State University in the Fall. The South Lake Chamber wishes Keira the best in all her endeavors and great success.
