On Friday, February 25, 2022, Lake Catherine Blueberry Farms celebrated their 100th year anniversary with a special ribbon cutting ceremony. Over 150 local business leaders gathered in Groveland to celebrate this long-time family-owned farm who has brought long lasting memories to our community. In 1922, this local farm established themselves where they focused primarily on citrus. Through the years, the Lowe family expanded their farm leading to their desire to research the possibility of blueberries; they learned all that they could prior to growing blueberries, and although different, gleaned from their citrus experience. The Lowe family sought out the land that would cultivate the growth of blueberries where an irrigation system was already in place and began their journey in the blueberry industry. These efforts took seasons to tweak and perfect testing this family in numerous ways. The Lowe family is a testament of perseverance who recognized arduous work and patience is vital to the success of establishing a thriving blueberry enterprise.

Lake Catherine Blueberry Farms is now known for their U-Pick farm where guest can harvest their own fresh blueberries. Lake Catherine offer seasonal events along with catering opportunities. For more information on Lake Catherine Blueberry Farms, visit their website or Facebook page.
