Guru Indian Restaurant is celebrating over 7 wonderful years of success here in Clermont! Guru offers you a unique local experience in top quality gourmet Indian dining at moderate prices. Founded by owner and head chef, Uday Kadam was inspired to launch his business here as he felt Clermont was the very best community and location for a fine quality destination restaurant.

The Clermont Guru! Uday Kadam is proudly from a small village 300 miles south of Mumbai, India. His father was a teacher; Kadam’s first ‘Guru’. While Kadam was in college in Bombay, he worked at the famous Taj Mahal Hotel. He studied and worked under the talents of many respected gurus, who taught and encouraged him in what would become his life’s most desired profession. Kadam started his professional career as a Manager for Marriott Hotels in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Egypt before coming to work in the United States in 1982. He has over 33 years of professional experience in the restaurant business here in the Orlando area. He was a Food and Beverage Manager working at the Disney Polynesian. His wife Pamela has recently retired after working for over 40 years at Disney as a professional Costume Manager. Kadam shares, the word Guru means ‘Master’ and ‘A Sharing Teacher’. Growing up, I was fortunate to work for and learn from the best of the best at Marriott and Disney!”

Specialty Indian Cuisine: Kadam wanted to start a simple and very authentic gourmet-style restaurant, specializing in Northern Indian foods. They proudly serve very generous portions of the finest quality foods available, with some savory extras going home for a second meal. With a diverse menu offering over 50 different delicious entrees, everything is always made with fresh ingredients, sauces and spices. Their unique appetizers as well as their cooked chicken, beef, lamb, seafood, vegetable and Biryani dishes are always custom cooked to perfection. Each dish is created any way you want from mild or normal medium to hot and spicy. They offer an assortment of premium quality beef, lamb. seafood and poultry dishes with many different entrees. Many appetizers and entrees are vegetable delights and even more which are created as vegan dishes. Their Biryani specialties are tender meat and basmati rice combinations made in Hyderabadi style. They offer numerous side orders like Sweet Mango Chutney, Raita and Pappdam. All 10 varieties of Indian naan breads are cooked fresh daily in their special clay ovens. For dessert, they offer homemade mango and pistachio flavored ice creams, Gulab Jamun and Ras Malai. To enhance any meal, ice cold domestic and Indian beers as well as a large variety of house and brand wines as well as Indian Chai Tea are available. They offer a special Children’s Menu with simple chicken fingers, Indian-style pizzas.

Catering, ToGo & Delivery Options: With the pandemic challenge, Guru Indian Restaurant stayed very busy. They started to give away free bottles of wine with pick up orders. Now having given away over 12,000 bottles of free wine with takeout orders, they still successfully maintain a full restaurant. They have been invited to cater small to extra-large events with up to 14,000 meals at Disney Resorts while also providing service for special events at Disney’s Grand Floridian, Bella Collina, the Mission Inn and in many area homes. Celebrating 8 Successful Years In September! Started in September 2014, Kadam credits his success story to his very loyal restaurant clients. While he strives to best serve the local community; they have served many celebrities, athletes and politicians as regular guests. Uday notes, “Many of our long-term guests claim they first tried Indian cuisine here and loved it!
