Setting a historic precedent for the City of Groveland, the Change of Command Ceremony for the City’s new Fire Chief was held on Feb. 21 for an official leadership transition from Chief Willie Morgan to Chief Kevin Carroll.

Congratulatory remarks were made by Mayor Evelyn Wilson, City Manager Mike Hein and Public Safety Director Chief Shawn Ramsey, as they formally supported Chief Carroll’s selection as a qualified leader. Chief Morgan, who will be staying on with the City as Construction Project Manager for our new Public Safety Facility, readily praised Chief Carroll’s willingness to serve our esteemed Fire Department and our charming community.
