The Clermont Fire Department invites the public to participate in “Fight Like Champions” – A Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness.
Clermont City Councilmembers and firefighters will lead the walk from 8-10 a.m. on Sat., Oct. 31 along the South Lake Trail, starting at Champions Splash Park, 100 Third St.

“The Clermont Fire Department looks forward to bringing the community together to support this important cause during Breast Cancer Awareness Month,” Clermont Fire Chief David Ezell said.

Greater Clermont Cancer Foundation (GCCF), which helps local families affected by breast cancer, will accept donations at the walk or anytime online at www.gccf.us/donate.

“We at GCCF are very excited and honored to participate with the City of Clermont Fire Department in this effort,” foundation president Laura Henry said. “In these challenging times, when the community is able to band together to raise money to fight cancer it is always a good day.”

Wear pink or purchase a pink breast cancer awareness T-shirt for $15 at the event from Clermont Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 4350. Clermont Police Department also is an event partner.

A Clermont firetruck and police car wrapped in pink by Orlando Health South Lake Hospital will be on display.

For those who prefer to participate virtually, please make a donation online at www.gccf.us/donate and send a selfie on your walk to info@clermontfl.org to be featured on the Clermont Fire Department Facebook page.
