The highlight of the annual Teacher Appreciation Breakfast is the spirit competition sponsored by Orlando Health South Lake Hospital and Office Depot. Schools bring noisemakers, props and even their drumline to earn the coveted title of the Most School Spirit and  $1500 worth of printing at Office Depot. With the event going virtual, schools had to get even more creative to show their spirit. Amy Ashley of East Ridge Middle School embraced the challenge and created the video that would ultimately lead her school to victory.

“At East Ridge Middle School, I have felt that besides a community of excellent educators and wonderful students, we are a family,” said Ashley. “That feeling of family was my inspiration behind the East Ridge Bunch. You can see from the video what kind of people we have the opportunity to work with each and every day. We have the best school around!”

Principal Jamie Sidoruk added, “Our teachers and staff at East Ridge Middle School are truly the BEST. I’m honored to work alongside a staff that is committed each and every day to putting students FIRST, even when living in unprecedented times. This is the kind of school spirit and joy they bring to our school every day for our students! This is just one reason I’m so proud to be the principal of East Ridge Middle School.”
