The South Lake Chamber of Commerce understands the COVID-19 (CoronaVirus) Pandemic has the potential to impact our local businesses. We also recognize there is a lot of misinformation and overreacting that can potentially cause a secondary impact on our local economy.  Our goal is to keep our members informed throughout the process with updates that we receive through numerous organizations on the city, county, state and federal levels.

Florida, and South Lake County, are open for business. We are in regular communication with the Florida Chamber of Commerce, state public health agencies, the various municipalities we represent and the CDC. If the CDC, or any of the aforementioned agencies, change their recommendations, we will notify South Lake Chamber members immediately.

At this time all regular monthly events and meetings that have been planned are still proceeding as normal. We will follow the CDC’s best practices during these events and encourage anyone who feels under the weather to stay home.

We also encourage our members to allow for flexibility in your sick leave policies allow employees who are sick the abilities to stay home without impacting their leave time. We also advise you to review or implement your remote workplace policies.

This webpage will be updated regularly with current information regarding COVID-19 and resources to assist your business as you prepare for the potential impacts of the virus. This page includes important links from Governor DeSantis’ office, the Emergency Operations Center, Centers for Disease Control, Florida Department of Health and our partners at the Florida and U.S. Chambers of Commerce and it will be updated regularly.
