Mark your calendars for the City of Clermont’s annual Red, White & Boom event from 6-10 p.m. July 4 at Waterfront Park, 330 3rd St.

The free, family event is packed with fun for everyone. Local celebrity Kayslin Victoria, a Top 24 singer on Season 16’s “The Voice,” will lead off with the National Anthem at the Highlander Pavilion. A fireworks show will top off the evening at 9:15 p.m. over Lake Minneola.

“We’re excited for one of our biggest events of the year,” City Manager Darren Gray said. “Come on out and enjoy this family-friendly, patriotic celebration.”

The free event will include traditional activities, such as a pie-eating contest, stilt walkers and old-fashioned games, in addition to a Kids Zone and popular, returning activities, like a Most Patriotic Costume contest and a pet parade.

Live musical entertainment will be provided by SWITCH, a cover band performing “totally radical” ‘80s music. The Kids Zone will include wet slides and bounce houses, and there will be plenty of food and drink options to enjoy.

The community is encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs to watch the fireworks. Off-site parking is available at Clermont Middle School and Cypress Ridge Elementary on East Avenue. Free shuttles will transport guests to and from Waterfront Park.

Vendor applications and Most Patriotic Pet Contest registration forms can be found at www.ClermontFL.gov/events. For more information, call 352-708-5975.
