CareerSource Central Florida (CSCF) announced the debut of Job LaunchPad, a podcast aimed at sharing topics on the career journey, talent and recruitment needs of businesses, labor market and the overall workforce landscape with subject matter experts in the community and within CSCF. Piloted by two episodes with helpful tips on the impact to individuals during the Coronavirus pandemic, the podcast is available by visiting the CareerSource Central Florida website. Listeners can now also subscribe to and follow Job Launchpad via major podcast directories including Apple, Google, Spotify and Stitcher.

“At CSCF, we live by our mission to connect Central Floridians to careers and develop skilled talent for businesses, most especially during these uncertain times when we believe the services we deliver across our region are needed more than ever,” said Lisa Burby, CSCF Vice President for Strategic Communications.

With a podcast title that depicts an effective starting point of a career journey, CSCF Job Launchpad embraces the essence of the CSCF brand that strives to inspire individuals with hiring and career coaching, skills training and education programs, finding the right talent and employee training and education, just to name a few.

“We couldn’t be more excited for our career seekers, businesses and the community to benefit from trusted advices and solutions that can help them thrive. We encourage them to take advantage of the valuable information and popular communication platform that is a timely resource in our modern, virtual environment. For CSCF, developing this medium is yet another option for our audiences to take advantage of as the economy reopens.”

The first two of the several anticipated episodes aired on May 8. Gina Ronokajiro, CSCF Osceola Career Center Manager, opened the podcast by discussing what employees and career seekers can do and the resources available if their job has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

On its second episode, Karl Allen, CSCF Southeast Orange Career Center Manager, recommended how displaced workers can connect to employers and a job during the pandemic that has been causing disruption to many industries.

There are two more episodes this month that will start airing on the 22nd with discussions on tips for updating online profile and resume as well as performing successful virtual interviews from CSCF career experts Janee Christian and Russell Vickery. While these four short episodes are slated this May, longer episodes lasting up to an hour will follow in the next months. The project is supported by podcast creators Workforce180.

The CSCF Job Launchpad is hosted by Cliff Marvin, CSCF Director of Public Policy and Alliances. He is joined by guests from the CSCF teams, government, business communities, career seekers and Central Florida public and private associations – all showcasing thought leadership, expert advices, testimonials and experiences on broader workforce and labor market spectrum.
