AdventHealth has been selected as a testing site for the Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson’s Phase 3 clinical research study, known as the Ensemble trial, to evaluate the safety and efficacy of Janssen’s investigational COVID-19 vaccine candidate.

They are excited about this opportunity to contribute to the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, and our goal is to enroll 4,500 participants in Central Florida over an 8-week period.

COVID-19 has impacted minority communities and older adults at higher rates than other populations. Although it is not a study requirement to enroll a specific percentage of people of a particular age, race or ethnic background, they want to ensure that the population in this study is representative of the population most impacted by COVID-19.

People who are selected to participate will receive a single dose, either of the vaccine or a placebo. The vaccine (or placebo) will be administered to approved participants at the AdventHealth Orlando, East Orlando and Kissimmee campuses.
