The South Lake Chamber of Commerce hosted their fourth annual South Lake Business Awards virtually in partnership with southlake.tv on Oct. 1, 2020.

The event was sponsored by WithumSmith+Brown and included the presentation of three signature awards that recognize a business or citizen of the community who has gone above and beyond to serve the South Lake community.

2020 Heritage Award Recipients: Pittman Jewelers

The Heritage Award recognizes a business with more than 25 years of service to the community that has shown continued contributions to the business community. This year the South Lake Chamber of Commerce recognized Pittman Jewelers who has been serving the South Lake community for more than 75 years.

2020 Oakley Seaver Special Service Award Recipient: Dr. Jamin Brahmbhatt

The Oakley Seaver Special Service Award, named after a beloved South Lake figure who dedicated his life to community service, recognizes a nonprofit business, club, organization, educational institution or healthcare facility that has contributed significantly to the community and created a lasting impact or benefit. This year the South Lake Chamber of Commerce recognized Dr. Jamin Brahmbhatt of the PUR Clinic.

2020 Citizen of the Year: Chief Charles Broadway pictured with wife Dana Broadway

The Citizen of the Year Award is among the most respected in Central Florida. This annual award is presented to a South Lake resident who has displayed extraordinary dedication to the community through being actively involved in at least two community organizations, performs community service, and continually goes above and beyond what may be required as part of their employment. This year the South Lake Chamber of Commerce recognized Chief Charles Broadway of the Clermont Police Department. Chief Broadway is not only an active member of the South Lake Chamber of Commerce, but he is also a vital community member who has works hard to bring the community together while building rapport between his officers and the community.

In addition to the evening’s signature awards, 61 local businesses were honored as the Best of South Lake. These awards were previously announced in March.
