On behalf of the 800-plus members of the South Lake Chamber of Commerce, it is
our pleasure to welcome you to our communities with the sincere hope that you
will quickly become a part of one of Florida’s most dynamic areas – South Lake
County. We are proud of the growth and development of the South Lake region.

 Located twenty miles west-northwest of
Orlando and a short drive away from Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, and Sea World,
South Lake County, with its green rolling hills and numerous lakes, offers an oasis that
is only minutes away from the Orlando metro area and the amenities that a big city offers.
Our school system – from elementary through secondary and higher
education – is modern and offers students comprehensive, high quality educational
opportunities and resources. South Lake County is home to Lake-Sumter Community College,
and the University of Central Florida – Clermont campus.
Healthcare is at its finest in our community and conveniently accessible.
Our state-of-the-art hospital, South Lake Hospital, is the first community-centered healthcare
complex in the area. Additional medical specialty services are also offered only a short
distance away at Orlando Regional Healthcare, Health Central, and Florida Hospital in Celebration.
In South Lake County you will find an abundance of clear, cool lakes and our
surprisingly hilly terrain. It’s no wonder some of the best water sports are enjoyed here. The area
is considered the Triathlon Capital, with the National Training Center located in Clermont.
Additionally, world-class skiers and wakeboard competitors often practice in our waters.
For those who prefer land activities, you will find parks and recreational
facilities unmatched throughout the state. Lake Louisa State Park, home to a number of triathlon
events and largest lake in South Lake County, is currently undergoing development that will make
this park one of the premier parks in the state.
